Calhoun County High School Alumni Association held its 22nd annual reunion last Saturday at Mt. Zion, with approximately 350 people attending.

Roger Propst, Class of ’65, was master of ceremonies. Lloyd Wright, Class of ’55, welcomed alumni and spoke of how the school can create an atmosphere for students to “enjoy their high school years.”

Patricia Siers Vannoy, Class of ’64, spoke on behalf of the 45th anniversary class.

James David Hathaway, Class of ’59, spoke about the hardships his class had, but said, “These hardships made us better people.” He recognized the servicemen in the auditorium.

George Bell, Class of ’49, thanked the people who provided his class with a place that had values and work ethics. He discussed teachers, pie socials, and a field trip to Washington, D.C., on a steam train. He also thanked all the veterans.

Recognition was also given to the classes of 1939 (70 years), 1944 (65 years), 1954 (55 years), and 1969 (40 years).

During the reunion, alumni were able to walk through the Wayne Underwood Museum.
