Calhoun County Com-mittee on Aging is hosting the 2018 Evergreen Expo, which features a collection of Christmas trees decorated by area businesses and organiza-tions.
Tree set up is underway, and everything will be in place before the Friday, Dec. 7, festival opening.
Community members are voting on which tree they like best by placing money in designated containers. Winner of the voting will split the proceeds of a silent auc-tion for all of the trees with CCCOA.
Everyone is able to place silent auction bids for the purchase of a decorated tree. All voting and silent auction bidding will end at 6 p.m. on Friday, the night of the annual Christmas parade in Grantsville, which begins at 7 p.m.
To register for the parade, call CCCOA, 354-7017.
On Friday at 5 p.m., CCCOA will open its doors to the public for a musical performance by Little Kanawha Valley Christian School and CM/HS Marching Band.
When it has concluded, everyone will have one last time to view the Christmas trees, place their vote, and place any final silent auction bids.
The Community Fav-orite will be announced during the parade, and the winner may pick up their half of the silent auction proceeds on Monday, Dec. 10, at CCCOA. Silent auction winners will be called on Monday and be allowed to pick up their trees also.
