Drug Take Back Day Planned Saturday At County Courthouse

West Virginia State Police will be collecting prescription medications on Saturday, Apr. 27, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., as part of DEA National Drug Take Back Day in front of the Calhoun County Courthouse.

Items left in prescription containers should have the individual’s name removed from the container.

Liquid medications should be kept in the original container and be sealed properly to prevent leakage.

Items that will not be collected are illegal substances, intravenous solutions, injectable me-dications, syringes, in-halers, and compressed cylinders.

According to Sgt. C.J. Weekley of the W.Va. State Police, on Saturday, give the medications to a uniformed State Trooper only. If no trooper is present at the courthouse, do not leave the medication.

If a trooper is not present, call 354-9586 to obtain a time to bring the medication back on Apr. 27 before 1 p.m.
