Ruth Ellen Burnside, 77, of Ivydale, died Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Clay Health Care Center.
She was born in Braxton County, the daughter of the late Denver and Icie Hardway Criner.
Surviving are two sons, Phillip Burnside of Duck and Richard Burnside of Ivydale; one step-son, Jerod Burnside of Florida; five grandchildren, Brooklyn Cottrell, Ashley May, Johnny Blevins, Little Phillip Burnside and Peyton Mae Burnside; one great-grandson, Zaden Cadle; two sisters, Wanetta Marks of Duck and Marie Marks of Fairmont; one brother, Denver Leon Criner of Akron, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Burnside; two daughters, Debra Ann Blevins and Kathlene Blevins; one sister, Cora Criner; and one brother, James Criner.
Services were held at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Ivydale, with Pastor James Williamson officiating. Burial was in Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery.
