HELENA BOOHER SIERS FULKS
Helena Booher Siers Fulks, 95, of Miletree Nursing Center, Spencer, died Sunday, July 29, 2018.
She was born at Orma, the daughter of the late Ralph and Ota Luzader Booher. She retired from Rubber Fabricators, Grantsville, and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, near Bear Run.
Surviving are two daughters, Myrtle Marie Whytsell of Spencer and Mary Nicholas of Orrville, Ohio; three sons, Albert Siers of Burton City, Ohio, Danny Siers of Oka and Ralph Siers of Arnoldsburg; one sister, Janet Chaddock of Vienna; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five step-children; and several step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Arnold Robert Siers; two husbands, Arnold Blake Siers and Forest Fulks; two sisters, Virginia Cunningham and Sue Rauch; and three brothers, Deward Booher, Theodore Booher and Grover Booher.
Service were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Burial was in Sand Ridge Cemetery.
DOROTHA JEAN BURROWS
Dorotha Jean Burrows, 82, of Mt. Zion, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, at River Oaks Nursing Home, Clarksburg.
She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Earl and Dula Burrows. Dorotha had held several different jobs in the Grantsville area and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one sister, Pauline Woofter and husband Elbert of Bridgeport, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Burrows and Edward Burrows.
Private family service will be held, with burial in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
BEVERLA ‘Bev’ KENDALL
Beverla “Bev” Kendall, 89, of Mineral Wells, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Parkersburg Care Center.
She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Edward W. and Lillian W. Fredrick Bennett. She attended Rush Run Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Conna Harris of Mineral Wells; one son, Kenneth Kendall of Clarksburg; one sister, Latrecia Thomas of California; three grandchildren, Tammy Harris of Parkersburg, Chuck Kendall of Grantsville and Casey Bryant of Clarksburg; four great-grandchildren, Charles Kendall III, Daniell Kendall and Shawn Kendall, all of Grantsville, and Makenzie Bryant of Clarksburg; and very special family friend, Kate Modock of Elyria, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rimer Kendall; one son, Charles Roger Kendall, Sr.; and one sister, Kathleen Gut.
Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg, with Pastor John Vannoy officiating. Burial was in Collins Cemetery, Stumptown.
CHARLES DELBERT SAMPSON
Charles Delbert Sampson, 80, of Grantsville, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at Select Specialty Hospital, Charleston.
He was born at Altizer, the son of the late Lovel O. and Maude “Neen” Kerby Sampson. He began working at age 12 for G.W. Hardman Farms. He was later employed by Stalnaker’s Auto Sales, Umstead’s Sales & Repairs, Hugart Stump Dozer Sales & Repairs, Sav-A-Tool, Inc., Bernard Pipeline Co., W.Va. Dept. of Highways, and Carl Kelley Paving. He was also a self-employed auto mechanic and operated Shaffer’s Place.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Shaffer Sampson; one son, Richard C. “Bub” Sampson and wife Neena; one daughter, Teresa White and husband Calvin; two grandsons, Christopher and Jonathon Sampson; one granddaughter, Becca Watts; two great-grandsons, Brysten Sampson and Michael Watts; two step-grandchildren, Nichole and Jonathan White; six step-great-grandchildren, Ryker Nedeff, Kimber, Jasmyn and Kenzee White, and Hailey and Rylee Nolan; and one sister, Madeline June Godfrey.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Stull; one infant son; two brothers, Donald Sampson and an infant Robert; and one brother-in-law, Dolan Godfrey.

BARBARA ‘Sue’ PEPPER
Barbara “Sue” Pepper, 72, of Munday, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at Camden Clark Medical Center
She was born in Wirt County, the daughter of the late James and Clara Jones Kelley. She was a 1964 graduate of Wirt County High School and retired from Wirt Inflatable/Mustang Survival after 30-plus years of service. She was an active member of Wolverton Cemetery Association.
Surviving were her husband of 54 years, Robert “Bob” Pepper; three sons, Terry “Joe” Kelley, Brian Pepper and Robert “Bobbie” Pepper, all of Munday; nine grandchildren, Samantha Kelley, Quinten “Slade,” Adain, Jordan, Payton, Ridge, Ryder, Harper and Liam; one great-granddaughter, Wilhelmina Mae Myers; one sister-in-law, Betty Kelley; five sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Matheny Whited Funeral Home, Elizabeth. Burial will be in Wolverton Cemetery, Munday. Visitation will be held Friday, 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
JOHN SINCLAIR STUMP
John Sinclair Stump, 77, of Grantsville, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Camden-Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg.
He was the son of the late Ira Charles “Bunk” and Wilma Jarvis Stump. He was a 1959 graduate of Calhoun County High School and majored in business at Marshall University, where he was a two-year member of the Army ROTC program. He was a 1962 honor graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He served in the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps at Fort Knox and in the Army Reserve as an MP. He began working at Stump Funeral Home at age nine and answering ambulance calls at age 16. He served over 60 years in the funeral profession as a fourth generation funeral director and embalmer, following his father, his grandfather Ira N. Stump and his great-grandmother Martha E. Bennett Stump, who founded the business. The funeral business evolved from her furniture store, where she provided caskets in the late 1890s. He served several years on the West Virginia Board of Funeral Service Examiners. He was a member of Linden Lodge #83 and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Nemesis Shrine. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Grantsville, where he served as a former deacon and lay speaker.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Roanna McKee Stump; one daughter, Rhonda Krugman; one son, J. Neil Stump; four grandsons, Zachary Krugman, Ethan Krugman, Eli Stump and Levi Sinclair Stump; two granddaughters, Emily Krugman and Isabella “Ellie” Stump; and one great-granddaughter, Kohlbi Knicely.
He was preceded in death by one infant daughter; one infant granddaughter, Holly Renee Stump; one son-in-law, Thomas Krugman; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Glendon and Eupha Hicks McKee.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Rick Metheney, Rev. Carroll McCauley and Elder Gene Miller officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery, near Grantsville, which is situated on what once was the home place of his great-grandfather, S.T. Stump.
RUIE BOND
Ruie Bond, 99, of Grants-ville, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018.
She was born in Gilmer County, the daughter of the late Charles Marion and Dora Ann Rogers Lewis. She worked as an LPN and finished her nursing career as an in-home healthcare giver.
Surviving are one daugh-ter, Mary Sue and Sanford Blair of Vienna, and one son, Ted Kent and Ginger Bond of Sutton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer K Bond; three sons, Charles Cain, Ronald Cain and Gary Cain; one daughter, Linda Cain; and 16 brothers and sisters.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Kevin Church officiating. Burial was in Mt. Liberty Cemetery.
GLEN CHARLES YOAK
Glen Charles Yoak, 60, of Big Bend, died Satur-day, July 28, 2018, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Glen Golden and Mary Weaver Yoak.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Diane Yoak; four children, Amanda, Aleacia, Travis and Misty; and 13 grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, 2 p.m., at Chapel Baptist Church, Nobe. Burial will be in Nobe Cemetery.
