Kathleen Sears, 91, of Norton, Ohio, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2018.
She was born in Beech, the daughter of the late Charles L. and Almeda Jarvis Houchin. She was a resident of Norton since 1957.
Surviving are three daughters, Donna Stine, Sherry Bechter and Darlene Lawson; two sons, David Sears and Lowell Sears; eight grandchildren, Eric Bechter, Jason Bechter, Michael Sears, Matthew Sears, Dana Lawson, Gregory Lawson, Kyle Sears and Amy Preusser; seven great-grandchildren, Trystian, Skyler and Aden Lawson, Natalie Bechter, Garrett and Jackson Preusser, and Ava Sasson; and one sister, Jean Boggs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie, in 2006; one grandson, Brian Sears; four brothers; and three sisters.
Services were held at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, Doylestown, Ohio, with Pastor Josh Eatmon officiating. Burial was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
SHAROIN FAYE TANNER STUMP
Sharoin Faye Tanner Stump, 68, of Spencer, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at Willows Center, Parkersburg.
She was born in Roane County, the daughter of the late Hershel and Arlene Boggs Tanner. She was a graduate of Spencer High School. She was formerly employed at Spencer Dept. Store and did private in-home care. She was a homemaker for many years and was a Baptist.
Surviving are her husband, Eugene Stump; two sons, Clint Stump and Christopher Stump; and one daughter, Cassandra Stump, all of Spencer.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elbert and Cleora Tanner, and several aunts and uncles.
Private graveside service was held at Spencer Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Justin Simmons officiating.
RANDALL AZZ COLLINS
Randall Azz Collins, 61, of Atlanta, Ga., died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at Gwinnett Hospital, Atlanta.
He was born in Grantsville, the son of the late Velda Collins Wade and step-father, Oras H. Wade. He was a graduate of Gilmer County High School and a graduate of mechanic school in Charleston. He was a former employee of Kenny Shoe Factory, Glenville, and was a volunteer fire fighter.
Surviving are one sister, Dinah Roberts; one brother, Oras Wade, Jr.; and two nieces.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Ronzel Roberts officiating. Burial was in Three Poplar Cemetery.
CAROL KIMBLE
Carol E. Kimble, 83, of Glenville, died Wednes-day, Nov. 7, 2018, at her residence.
She was born in Rosedale, the daughter of the late Trader and Thelma Ferrell Tallman. She was a homemaker and florist. She was co-owner and operator of the Dash of Spice Greenhouse and Florist, near Glenville, with 25-plus years experience. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and treasurer of the Senior Citizens Satellite Club. She was a Christian.
Surviving are two daughters, Beth Dorsey and husband David of Wise, Va., and Jan Beach and husband Thim of Vero Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Connie Heitzman of Sistersville, Charlotte Allen of Spencer and Tammy Pritt of Huntington; one brother, Bill Tallman and wife Francine of Wilsee; five grandchildren, Terri and Erin Dorsey, Kelly Ruff, Tim “T.C.” Beach and Tiffany Kimble; eight great-grandsons; one foster daughter, Arleta Davis and husband Gerald of Glenville; and close friend, Ronal “Barney” Bonnett of Glenville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Berl Kimble, on July 14, 2009; one son, Frank L. Kimble; one sister, Sharon Frame; and one brother, Danny Tallman.
Services were held at Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville, with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Grantsville.
Howard R. Carpenter, 66, of Orma, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at his home.
He was the son of Johanne Hamilton Carpenter and the late Rex Carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Boggs Natural Gas as a mechanic.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two sons, Howard Sean Carpenter and wife Stephanie of Coats, N.C., and Christopher Todd Carpenter and fiancé Tracy Smith of Orma; three grandchildren, Logan Christopher Carpenter, Savanna Carol Carpenter and Brooklyn Sierra Carpenter, all of Orma; and one step-granddaughter, Abbey of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Wanda Carpenter, and one sister, Bev Carpenter.
