High Honor Graduates Recognized

The 19th annual High Honor Graduates Banquet was held at Calhoun Mid-dle/High School on Tuesday, May 15, to honor seniors who had a cumu-lative grade point average of 3.6 or higher and to acknowledge important people in their academic careers, their family, and honor teachers.
This year’s High Honor Graduates are Roby Lee Farmer, Jr., Mercedes Keyanna Ferrell, Kinley Regan Hosey, Kaylee Marie Jarvis, Caroline Elizabeth McCumbers, Selina May Rush, Robert Donald Twist IV, Carissa Leann Yoak, and Hayes Franklin Vineyard.
Honor Teachers are Tambree Yoak, Jessica Cook, Norma Myers, Brandi Sampson, Emily Ramezan, Jeremy Johnson and Kimberly Batten.
CM/HS principal Anita Stephenson was master of ceremonies and Alicia Swearingen, 1999 High Honor Graduate, was guest speaker.
Dinner was prepared by Mt. Zion U.M. Church and served by CM/HS National Honor Society members.
PowerPoint presenta-tion showcased High Honor Graduates’ achieve-ments and announced their future plans.
Cords and medallions, which were worn at graduation on May 18, were presented by super-intendent Kelli Whytsell, along with certificates for students and teachers.
