Mary Lea Sampson West, 65, died Saturday Apr. 14, 2018.
She was born in Grantsville, the daughter of the late Oral “Hoot” and Ruby Sampson. She was a graduate of Calhoun County High School and worked in various areas, including B.F. Goodrich. In recent years, she worked as an administrative assistant with the Dept. of Health and Human Services.
Surviving are her fiancé, Robert “Bob” Carpenter; one sister, Ellen Sampson Cohen; two brothers, Otis “Otie” Sampson and Willard Sampson; one son, Kenneth “K.C.” West and family; two step-sons, Travis West and Tracy West; and Matthew Carpenter and family and Melissa Carpenter George and family.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Sampson.
Memorial services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating.
