EVERETT WEARS
Everett L. Wears, 95, of Port Clinton, Ohio, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio.
He was born in Orma, the son of Lona and Emma Wilson Wears. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II. He worked as a maintenance man for U.S. Gypsum, Port Clinton.
Surviving are his wife, Freda M. White Wears, whom he married on Dec. 2, 200; four daughters, Barbara Honas, Connie Crawford, Sheri Wears and Geraldine Skinner; one son, Michael Wears; two step-daughters, Loretta Sampson and Carol Swearingen; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by former wives, Beatrice Carpenter Wears and Lear Butler Wears; two sons, Dale Wears and Larry Wears; one step-son, David Booher; one daughter, Laura Wears; two brothers, Wilbur Wears and Delbert Wears; four sisters, Elanor Wears, Cleo Wears, Audrey Curtis and Madeline Butler; and one grandson, Jim Williams.
Services were held at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, with a military graveside service.

Memorial celebration in honor of John Herman Rose, 76, of Chloe, will be held Sunday, noon to 4 p.m., at Upper West Fork Park.
STEPHEN BURL HEATER
Stephen Burl Heater, 61, of Knoxville, Tenn., died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019.
He was the son of the late Burley Ivan and Dorla Rhodes Heater. He was a 1976 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Aug. 1976-Jan. 1982, serving on the USS John F. Kennedy. He graduated from Belleview University with a bachelor of science, majoring in project management. He was employed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a mechanical engineer and had previously been employed by Hartford Steam Boiler as boiler and pressure vessel inspector. He was a member of John Sevier Gun Range, National Rifle Association, and Smokey Mountain Archers.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry Whalen Heater; two daughters, Kristen Michelle Heater of Knoxville and Brittany Dawn Dies of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and one sister and brother-in-law, Dina and Michael Braniff of Parkersburg.
Visitation will be held Friday, 5 to 8 p.m., at Kimes Funeral Home, 521-5th St., Parkersburg. Graveside service will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at Cottrill Cemetery, Beech, with Pastor Scott Stewart officiating. Online condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.kimesfuneralhome.com.
