GERALDINE SLOAN
Geraldine Sloan, 93, of Parkersburg, died Thursday, July 19, 2018, at her residence.
She was born in Grantsville, the daughter of the late Walter O. and Ina Wright Ward. In her early years, she worked at Stouts Drug Store and The Chancellor Hotel.
Surviving are her husband, Rev. Clay E. Sloan; one son, Arthur Max Sloan of Belpre, Ohio; one daughter, Ruth Ann Sloan Moss of Bonita Springs, Fla.; three grandchildren, Chad Allen Sloan, Brian James Moss and Brittany Michelle Moss Teaters; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Elizabeth and Alexander Clay Sloan; and one sister, Blondel Miller.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Ward, Jr.
Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Ken Fullerton officiating, and burial in Sunset Memory Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.leavittfuneralhome.com.
MICHAEL EUGENE SINNETT
Michael Eugene Sinnett, 68, of Harrisville, died Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
He was born in Harrisville, the son of the late Hazel Sinnett Duelley.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Lyn Cunningham Sinnett of Harrisville, whom he married on July 30, 1976; one son, Michael Glenn Sinnett of Morgantown; two daughters, Nicole Lynn Sinnett of Harrisville and Tiffany Marie Duclose of Mt. Zion; one grandson, Samuel Tobias Collins of Mt. Zion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Ray Duelley, who passed at birth, and Donald Duelley; and one sister, Janet Duelley.

FRANCIS CAIN
Francis E. Cain, 93, died Friday, July 20, 2018.
He was born in Big Bend, the son of the late Everett and Eva Starcher Cain. He was a 1941 graduate of Calhoun County High School and served in the United States Army Air Force from 1943 to 1946. After his service, he attended Glenville State College, Potomac State College and West Virginia University. He received a bachelor of science in agronomy and a masters degree in animal husbandry from WVU. He returned to Calhoun County to work with the Soil Conservation Service. He purchased his Uncle Leonard Cain’s oil and gas business and built Cain Oil & Gas. He was also a full-time farmer on the Cain Farms. He was a member of Brooksville Baptist Church and served as a board member for Calhoun County Bank.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Donna Warrenfeltz Cain, whom he met at Potomac State; four children, Juanita Cain Miller and husband Jack, David Cain, Susan Cain Hall and husband Butch, and Laura Cain Stump and husband Mark; one daughter-in-law, Donna Godfrey Cain; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces and great-nephews and nieces; and one brother, Dr. Joseph Cain.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jewel Cain Siegrist; one son, Dean John Cain; and one great-grandson, Skylar Adriano.
A celebration of Francis’ life will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 4 to 6 p.m., at Brooksville Baptist Church picnic pavilion for family, friends and community.
