KATHY BAILEY
Kathy Bailey, 60, of Mt. Zion, died Saturday, June 23, 2018, at home.
She was born in Logan Country, the daughter of the late Glen and Elsie Bailey Riddle. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are one sister, Gladys Toler of Cyclone; two brothers, Charles Riddle of Oceana and George Riddle of Grantsville; two daughters, Cathy Rush of Millstone and Donna Bailey Johnson of Sand Ridge; three granddaughters, Andrea Bailey Wilmoth of Davisville and Tiffany and Selina Rush of Millstone; three grandsons, Austin and Dennis Bailey of Mt. Zion and Christopher Johnson of Sand Ridge; and two great-grandchildren, Trinity and Jaxsyn Wilmoth of Davisville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Bailey, and two brothers, William “Wick” Riddle and James Riddle.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Shelly Mace officiating. Burial was in Clayton Stump Cemetery.
JOYCE MARIE MORGAN
Joyce Marie Morgan, 63, of Arnoldsburg, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018.
She was born in Roane County, the daughter of the late Walter “George” and Helen Williams. She worked as a candy striper at Roane General Hospital and completed her license practical nursing degree and continued to work at the hospital. She completed her registered nursing degree and bachelors degree in nursing. She had also worked as a Calhoun County Health Dept. nurse, director of nursing at Roane General, and retired from her nursing career as the Calhoun County Schools nurse.
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Jim Morgan; two daughters, Jennifer and Jennings McCumbers of Nicut and Sarah and Scott Limer of Parkersburg; one son, James and Jen Morgan of Raleigh, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Braden (Little Bear) and Bentley McCumbers, Cameron and Jenna Limer, Caiden and Reagan Morgan and Hazel Spingola; two sisters, Judy and Roger Scott of Statesville, N.C., and Janet Matheney of Spencer; two brothers, Tiny Williams and Terry Williams of Spencer; three sisters-in-law, Karon Williams, Barbara Goodman and Ruth Wilson; one brother-in-law, John Morgan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one infant sister, Carolyn; one brother, Larry Williams; two sisters-in-law, Helen Scarpellini and Linda Williams; and two brothers-in-law, Ronnie Morgan and Delmar Matheney.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Alfred Hickman and Pastor Chris Stout officiating. Graveside services were held by Rev. Loren Price at Gibson Cemetery.
HARLAN ‘KEITH’ DYE
Harlan “Keith” Dye, 74, of Amma, died Monday June 25, 2018, at home.
He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Harold and Estie Greathouse Dye. He was a member of Millstone Church of Christ. He had worked 20-plus years for Okmar Oil Co. and relocated to Charlotte, N.C., in 1997 to work for and retire from Radiator Specialty Co.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Wanda Dye; two daughters, Christie Weekley and Jeanie Whytsell; one son, Danny Dye; four grandsons, Ryan Whytsell, Bradyn Dye, Logan Dye and Ethan Dye; two great-grandsons, Abel Dye and Owen Dye; one sister, Ruth Ellen Dye Bell; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Donnie Dye, Dennis Dye, Donald Dye and Johnny Dye, and one sister, Maryland Dye Ingram.
A private family memorial service will be held.
GLENN HANLIN
Glenn S. Hanlin, 74, of Chloe, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Hampshire Center, Romney.
He was born in Beryl, the son of Austin and Ruth Hanlin. He was a former member of the Marine Corp. and served as the county commissioner for Calhoun County. He was superintendent of roads in Calhoun and retired from W.Va. Dept. of Highways after 17 years.
Surviving are two sisters, Mary Carnell and Loretta Reel of New Creek; two sons, James Hanlin of Anchorage, Alaska, and Michael Hanlin of Clarksburg; two daughters, Pamela Bowen of Jonesboro, Ark., and Heather Hanlin-Grogg of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and seven grandchildren, Jesse Hanlin, Joshua Hanlin, Noah Hanlin, Chance Bowen, Chloe Bowen, Aden Morton and Ella Morton.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Connie L. Hanlin, and one brother, John Hanlin.

JOYCE CONSTANCE WHEELER
Joyce Constance Wheeler, 92, of Grantsville, formerly of Lincoln County, died Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Minnie Hamilton Health System.
She was born in Oshkosh, Wisc., the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Phillips Alverson.
Surviving are five sons, Alvin “Buddy” Wheeler and Samuel Wheeler, both of Lincoln County, Dana Wheeler of Lubeck and Orval Wheeler and Roger Wheeler, both of North Carolina; one daughter, Rosetta “Connie” Toppings of Grantsville; 27 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and two sisters of Oshkosh.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Alvin W. Wheeler, whom she married in 1943; one son, Bobby L. Wheeler; and one daughter, Joyce E. Chandler.
Services were held at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin. Burial was in Harvey’s Creek Cemetery.
GARY DALE JARVIS
Gary Dale Jarvis, 74, of Chloe, died Thursday, June 28, 2018, at his home.
He was born at Minnora, the son of the late to Calvin (Cal) and Grace Bailey Jarvis. He went to school in Calhoun County and worked as an operator for Houchin Construction and Bruce Allen, Inc., for many years.
Surviving are his com-panion, Mary Hardman; four children, Sam Jarvis of Chloe, Terry Fowler of Glendale, Randall Jarvis of Spencer and Gary Wayne Jarvis of Chloe; four siblings, Alma DeWeese of Little Creek and Bonnie Lee Ellison, Charles Jarvis and Charter Brice Jarvis, all of Chloe; 11 grandchildren, Samantha, Melissa, Monica, Kari, Kourtney, Skyler, Martha, Grace, Calvin, David and Dakota; and 13 great-grandchildren, Alex, Jaylen, Brianna, Kenlie, Paislie, Logan, Marcus, Mason, Kayleigh, Andria, Duke, Jayla and Jessie.
He was preceded in death by 11 siblings, Cecil Ray Jarvis, Dessie Pearl Jett, Maysel Lucille Badgett, Olive Grace DeWeese, Rilma Paulene Keaton, Paris Jarvis, Carl Bernard Jarvis, Geneva Edith Badgett, Nell DeWeese, Calvin Jarvis and Wilma Mae DeWeese, and one daughter, Sharon Kay Jarvis.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Evangelist Steve Boggs officiating. Burial was in Jarvis Family Cemetery at the farm on Beech Road.
AVA DAWN ‘Patty’ MITCHELL
Ava Dawn “Patty” Mitchell, 76, of Arnoldsburg, died Saturday, June 30, 2018, at home.
She was born at Sand Ridge, the daughter of the late Roy and Ava Powell Bush. She was a 1959 graduate of Calhoun County High School. She worked as a para-professional at Arnoldsburg Elementary School and retired in 2001 after 29 years of service.
Surviving are her husband, Bubby Dean Mitchell; two daughters, Tina Helton of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jill Skaggs of Arnoldsburg; and three grandsons, Berry Irwin and Mitchell Irwin of Knoxville and Michael Skaggs of Elkridge, Md.
She was preceded in death by three half-brothers, Allen King, Pete Bush and Russell Bush, and five half-sisters, Juanita King, Eula Short, Pauline Butcher, Lucille Vannoy and Ruby Skidmore.

LINDA MARIE CARDER
Linda Marie Carder, 64, of Glenville, died Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston.
She was born in Glenville, the daughter of the late Luther and Hallie Lynch Heater. She was a 1972 graduate of Gilmer County High School and a 2000 graduate of Fairmont State University. She had worked the past 18 years as a physical therapist assistant at Minnie Hamilton Health System, Grantsville.
Surviving are her husband, Larry Carder, whom she married on Feb. 17, 1973; one son, Larry Edward “Eddie” Carder and wife Rebecca of Jane Lew; one daughter, Sherry Ann Cogar and husband Thomas of Glenville; four grandchildren, Jacob and Ty Carder of Jane Lew and Zane and Cole Cogar of Glenville; four sisters, Helen Montgomery and husband Bob of Weston, Sharon Davisson and Debbie Sams and husband Bobby, all of Alum Bridge, and Patty Clem of Parkersburg; numerous nieces and nephews; and her work family, including Debbie Jones and Becky Wilson.
Linda’s request for cremation has been honored. Memorial service will be conducted Friday, 5 p.m., at Ellyson Mortuary, Glenville, with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, 3 to 5 p.m., at the mortuary.
