John William Freshour, 84, of Coxs Mills, died Wednesday, Apr. 11, 2018, at his residence.
He was born at Berea, the son of the late William H. and Orpha Smith Freshour. He was a 1951 graduate of Harrisville High School and a U.S. Army Veteran stationed in Germany. He had worked in the carpenter unions in Weston, Clarksburg, St. Marys and #899, Parkersburg, before retiring. He was a member of Spruce Creek Baptist Church and attended Newberne United Methodist Church. He was a member of Harmony Lodge #118, Burnt House, since 1955.
Surviving are two daughters, Debra “Debbie” Sheets of Sengtown Road and JoAnn Duffield of Palestine; one son, John David Freshour of Sandyville; seven grandchildren, Tyler and Travis Sheets, Dylan, Hannah and Vanessa Duffield, and Zeke and Colleen Freshour; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oma Jean Bailey Freshour in 1995; one sister, Rosemary Hall; and three brothers, Kenneth Freshour, Marvin Freshour and infant Edwin Freshour.
Services will were held at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville. Burial was in Spruce Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
