This summer is off to a great start!
Save the Children and 21st Century Community Learning Centers are offering STREAM (Sci-ence, Technology, Read-ing, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) at Arnolds-burg Elementary School for Summer Camp.
Children ages K-4 are doing GIRP, Emergent Reading, RAvFL, math, healthy choices, and community service.
Middle school students are participating in a science STEM program, working on their funda-mental math skills and improving their reading abilities that will help get them one step ahead for the next school year.
Fun projects and games are planned through July 26, with all students receiving free lunch.
High school students have an opportunity to attend different camps throughout the summer.
From June 24-28, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., “Strength and Conditioning Camp” will be held at Calhoun Middle/High School, led by Josh Johnson. It is for anyone in grades 9-12.
Children can drive themselves to camp or they can ride the bus to Arnoldsburg at normal times, and transportation is provided to CM/HS.
The camp is open to students who want to get into better shape and for athletes who are look-ing to improve their performance. Johnson will provide instruction on how to use the weightroom equipment.
The staff is excited to get the summer going. We are looking forward to watching each student grow and learn.
