Shelby Arizona Sims, 21, of Westerville, Ohio, died Saturday, June 30, 2019, due to complications of childbirth.
She was born in Newark, Ohio, the daughter of Kevin Sims and Athena Andrew Marion. She was a college student studying sustainable agriculture and worked as a barista at Starbucks, New Albany, Ohio. She volunteered at Colony Cats and was a photographer.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her fiancé, Matthew Manning Erath, step-father, Andrew Marion; grandmothers, Onabelle Sims, Susan Rumentzas and Susan Marion; grandfather, Gus Rumentzas; two brothers, Austin and Colton Wallace; step-sister, Ariel Jean; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death are her infant daughter, Madison Manning Erath; her grandfather, Billy Ray Sims; and one brother, Allen Ray Sims.
Shelby was an organ donor and helped at least three people with her donations.
Services were held at Thornville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jeremy Shank as celebrant. Burial was in Thornville Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, where she was laid to rest with her daughter, and near her brother, Allen. The family asks that contributions be made to the gofundme page that her aunts set up (www.gofundme.com/our-family-lost-2-angels-this-month) or sent directly to Hoskinson Funeral Home, Thornville, to cover funeral expenses.
